Intensive Counseling and Trauma Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) can be highly effective in clearing specific memories, sensations, traumatic symptoms, and instills a sense of confidence as you face any situation that would have previously triggered unwanted emotions.

EMDR intensives range from 1.5 to 3 hours and allows the processing and healing to occur in as little as one day. While talk therapy has endless benefits, major stress and trauma needs to be remedied as quickly and efficiently as possible. Many clients prefer the intensive approach over meeting for one hour each week, unpacking/repacking emotions, and gaining improvement a little at a time.

Telehealth video sessions are available via a HIPAA compliant platform. In-person sessions and workshops are located in a private practice in League City.

Ways EMDR can help:

Combat irrational fears and develop strength to persevere through ongoing stress (medical issues, sleep problems, pain, mental health, recurrent trauma, sensory sensitivity, hurricanes, etc.)

Desensitize traumatic memories, decrease triggers, gain confidence in sense of strength, security, and worthiness

Concerns that EMDR can help with:

Trauma Related Issues/Past and Recent Trauma, Ongoing Stress, Pain/Suffering, Nightmares, Anticipation Stress (Academic, Athletic, and Social Anxiety), Grief/Loss, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Behavioral Issues, Academic Difficulty, Anxiety, Depression, Body Image, Social Skills, Personality Disorder

If you can recall a time when you felt deeply unsafe or helpless, this is a traumatic memory possibly affecting your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and holding you back in some way from living a life of freedom and authenticity. Your traumatic experience may have been many years ago, very recent, or a result of ongoing stress. You’ve likely been in fight or flight since March 2020 because living in a pandemic is traumatic ongoing stress.

Intensive sessions are available for individuals or groups

Intensive sessions and workshops are available for telehealth (video) and in person sessions. For individual workshops, approximately 1-2 90-minute sessions are booked for taking information and discovery of needs. An additional 2 sessions (minimum) are booked to conduct the EMDR processing of memories and/or disturbances.

For groups, approximately 1-2 hours are spent in EMDR processing using art expression (without verbalizing personal disturbances or memories). 2 hours are spent in somatic experiencing techniques, which allows the release of any trauma being held in the physical body. 2 additional hours are spent developing adaptive coping techniques.

The last 7+ years in a nutshell…

Crisis Trauma Therapy Counselor Master of Arts Clinical Psychology College Graduation

I’ve had to give a temporary goodbye to both of my parents; mom became severely ill and passed within 5 days and dad suffered greatly from acute leukemia for 5 weeks. Afterward, my personal counselor processed the most painful parts of the event with me using EMDR and although grief is a long and unique journey for each of us, EMDR gave me great relief and the ability to move forward in my life. I began training in EMDR for trauma, recent events, and ongoing stress for individuals and groups. My hope is to provide healing insights and resurface beliefs of the worthiness we each are born with to feel loved, happy, and enjoy life.
